The hottest thing going at the Chilliwack Municipal Airport in British Columbia has nothing to do with airplanes – other than the ones being flown in from as far away as Holland and Germany for delicious pie at the Airport Coffee Shop, courtesy of local pie genius Barbara Mitchell.

Ms. Mitchell’s pies attract travellers from across the country, the United States and as far away as Holland and Germany. On clear days, recreational pilots from around British Columbia even make special flights into Chilliwack just to have a $3.75 slice of apple, lemon-meringue, blueberry-peach or whatever pie is available on the changing menu board.
